Oppenheimer (OmU)

28. November 2023 - 21:00 - 23:00

Based on the 2005 biography „American Prometheus“ by Kai Bird
and Martin J. Sherwin, Christopher Nolan’s latest film chronicles the
career of American theoretical physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), focusing on his time as the director of the Manhattan Project during World War II, which led to the successful Trinity test.
It also shows his early years with his relationships with Communist Party members like his wife Katherine Puening (Emily Blunt) and Jean Tatlock (Florence Pugh), with whom he had an affair. This ultimately led to the 1954 security hearing, where Oppenheimer’s past was used to remove his political influence after he advised against further nuclear research.
„Oppenheimer“ shines with its thrilling script, outstanding performances by all the actors, but especially Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., and of course with its visuals, where Nolan once again excels. This movie will not only blow you away visually, it will also keep you on the edge of your seat with its story. A must see for all Nolan fans and those who want to experience the full „Barbenheimer“ phenomenon!
