In this year’s summer movie, we spirit you away into a fantastical world full of sugary sweets. In this prequel to the famous children´s book by Roald Dahl, director Paul King chose to forgo the darker edges of the original story and instead created a more positive look on the world-famous chocolatier. The result is a fantastic adventure, that manages to enchant the viewer with its spectacle and humor, in no small part thanks to the performance of lead actor Timothée Chalamet, who portrays the titular character with an innocent charm and quirkiness that you can´t help but love. In the spirit of the previous film adaptations, “Wonka” is also a musical film.
