SUMMARY:Zwei zu eins
DESCRIPTION:In dieser auf realen Begebenheiten beruhenden Geschichte machen die drei Freunde Robert\, Volker und Maren aus Halberstadt eine unglaubliche Entdeckung in der Nähe ihrer Heimat. Kurz nach dem Mauerfall finden sie das Lager von Millionen DDR-Mark\, welche von der Regierung dort versteckt wurden und beschließen die Eigentümerschaft zu ihren Gunsten zu ändern. In Rucksäcken schleppen sie Haufenweise Geld aus dem Schacht\, doch der Umtausch solcher Mengen in D-Mark ist nicht so einfach. Die drei müssen also die Hilfe ihrer Freunde und Bekannte beanspruchen und einen ausgeklügelten Plan schmieden\, um sich die Freiheiten kaufen zu können\, die sie schon immer haben wollten. Mit Humor zeigt uns Natja Brunckhorst in diesem Film\, dass Glück und Geld nicht alles im Leben sind und man manchmal dem anrauschenden Kapitalismus auch einfach mal ein Schnippchen schlagen muss. SUMMARY:Love Lies Bleeding (OmU)
DESCRIPTION:Small-town loner Lou is currently working as a gym manager\, a job where she’s wasting away\, unclogging toilets and slipping steroids to bulked-up juicers. That suddenly changes when a new customer walks in and hits her like a lightning strike of love: Jackie\, an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream. But their love ignites violence\, as there´s also Lou´s family\, especially her estranged father\, who´s shadowy influence begins to pull both women into a web of crime… \nLet me get this out at the start: this movie is a love story\, but one that wades through a ditch filled with blood and muck. Seldom have I seen a movie with such a raw\, grimy feel to it. From steamy sex scenes to viscerally brutal violence (sometimes bordering on body horror) this movie has everything. And still\, I found myself gleefully entertained the whole way through. A big part of this is the excellent acting\, both from Kristen Stewart\, who has already proven her talent for playing troublesome personas\, as well as her co-stars Katy O´Brian and Ed Harris. The other part is an electrifying narrative that never lets up\, as director Rose Glass creates a slow-motion human car crash made of bad decisions\, atrocious haircuts and forbidden love that I would recommend to anyone who can stomach the blood. DESCRIPTION:Adam (Andrew Scott) works as a television writer and lives in an almost empty apartment building in London. In trying to find inspiration for a new script\, he returns to his childhood home where – strangely – his long dead parents welcome him. Then one night\, Adam is visited by Harry (Paul Mescal)\, the only other resident in the building. Though Adam is hesitant at first\, the two develop a special bond.\nAs past troubles slowly surface between Adam and both his father and mother\, the relationship with Harry intensifies. Can their love heal old wounds? \nWhen thinking back\, the ending immediately comes to mind – but of course I cannot talk about that here. Moreover\, the performances of the two lead actors as well as the work of the supporting cast (namely Adam‘s parents) are truly memorable. In conjunction with the cinematography and the use of analogue film\, the movie puts you on an emotional ride through different eras of queer acceptance.\nThough be warned – a tear or a whole bucket of tears might be shed. Only after meeting his musical therapist\, Lee\, whom he falls in love with\, does he start to brighten up\, having finally found someone to share his mental delusion with.\n“Joker: Folie à Deux“ by Todd Phillips is the highly anticipated sequel to the box office hit and fan favourite “Joker“ from 2019 which earned Joaquin Phoenix his first Oscar. Part Two also promises to be a tour-de-force of acting\, now also starring Lady Gaga whose name already makes her a perfect fit for this role. Judging by the trailer\, we can expect breathtaking performances from both leads.\nIt might surprise some that the movie is said to include musical elements\, since it focuses on one of the most iconic and crazy villains. But on a second thought it does make sense when you take the Jokers insanity into consideration\, resulting in a twisted reality of his mind.\n“Joker: Folie à Deux“ is a must-see for fans of gritty and realistic comic book movies\, as well as psychological dramas/thrillers. If you like great acting and a captivating story about love\, madness and society in chaos\, you probably won’t want to miss this dark and fascinating exploration of the Jokers mind.
