DESCRIPTION:We are back and start the new semester with our well-known Erstikino! \nEveryone on the planet knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man\, as Quentin Beck aka Mysterio revealed his identity and portrayed him as his killer before his death.\nThis brings the quiet high school life he and his friends MJ and Ned previously enjoyed to an abrupt end. Finding a college for the three of them seems impossible now as well.\nTo change this\, he seeks out Dr. Stephen Strange to make the world forget who Spider-Man is. SUMMARY:Everything Everywhere All At Once (OmU)
DESCRIPTION:Evelyn Wang is a Chinese immigrant living in America. There she runs a small laundromat with her husband Waymond. In addition to her business struggeling at the moment\, Evelyn has to face a multitude of other worries and problems: the salon is being investigated by the IRS\, her husband wants a divorce\, her father\, who has recently arrived from Hong Kong\, has problems with American culture\, the Chinese New Year celebration has to be planned and prepared\, and her daughter wants to introduce her girlfriend Becky to the family. During the visit to the IRS\, Alpha Waymond\, an alternate version of Waymond from another universe\, suddenly takes over the body of Evelyn’s husband. The latter explains to her that she must use the „verse-jumping“ technology developed in\nthe so-called Alphaverse to save the multiverse from the evil Jobu Tupaki by harnessing the abilities of all her versions from other universes. EEAAO tells a story of the problems of everyday life and how people face them. SUMMARY:The Card Counter
DESCRIPTION:Von Paul Schrader und seinen Figuren sind wir schon einiges gewohnt. Der Regisseur von „Taxi Driver“ lässt uns in seinem neuen Film wieder in das Leben eines Gequälten eintauchen. William\, Ex-Soldat\, verbringt jeden Tag gleich. Er geht ins Casino\, spielt Blackjack mit kleinen Einsätzen\, bleibt unauffällig\, zählt Karten und geht mit einem kleinen\, aber sicheren Gewinn nach Hause. Im Casino sagt ihm niemand\, was er tun muss oder fragt ihn nach seiner Vergangenheit. Denn genau mit dieser versucht er umzugehen. Doch auf begabte Spieler wird man aufmerksam\, so auch La Linda\, die William überredet an Pokerturnieren teilzunehmen. So beginnen sie eine Reise durch die Casinos der USA. Auf ihrem Weg treffen sie auf Cirk\, der in gewisser Weise in einer Verbindung zu William steht. Als fast fröhliches\, durch die Gewinne beflügeltes Trio setzen sie ihre Reise durch die Casinos fort. \nDer Film saugt einen trotz seines ruhigen Erzählstils in die Geschichte und vor allem die Vergangenheit von William ein.
