DESCRIPTION:Audio German\, Subtitles English\n\nSeit ihrer Geburt steht Luca im Mittelpunkt der Aufmerksamkeit. Die 16-jährige ist Teil und Mittelpunkt einer Influencer-Familie. Vor vielen Jahren erschufen ihre Eltern mit „Familie Sommer“ einen der erfolgreichsten Influencer-Accounts Deutschlands. Über Jahre hinweg wurde jeder Aspekt von Lucas Leben\, von ihrer Geburt bis hin zur Pubertät\, in der Öffentlichkeit mitverfolgt und diskutiert. Luca weiß\, dass das Einkommen der Familie von dieser Selbstdarstellung abhängt und ist bereit sich in den Dienst dieser Sache zu stellen. Doch als ihre Eltern vorschlagen ein weiteres Kind zu bekommen\, um die sinkenden Aufrufzahlen zu bekämpfen\, beginnen Selbstzweifel bei Luca zu wachsen. \nJoscha Bongards Regiedebüt ist ein Hoffnungsschimmer in der oftmals trist wirkenden deutschen Filmszene. Nein? Egal! Denn in Pixars neustem Animationsfilm „Hoppers“ haben Wissenschaftler lebensechte Tierroboter erschaffen\, in die man das menschliche Bewusstsein übertragen kann. \nDie sehr naturnahe Mabel Tanaka (gesprochen von Magdalena Montasser) entdeckt diese eigentlich geheime Technologie im Forschungszentrum ihrer Universität und nutzt sie auch sogleich um in Form eines Bibers ihre geliebten Tiere in freier Wildbahn besser kennenzulernen. Zugleich will sie die lokale Fauna von den Plänen der Stadt Beaverton warnen. Diese will nämlich den natürlichen Lebensraum der verschiedenen Spezies zerstören und stattdessen eine Autobahn dort errichten. \nInwiefern das jedoch gelingt\, welche Eigenheiten Mabel über die Kultur der Biber kennenlernt und welche deutschen Promis ihr als entzückende Tiere hört müsst ihr schon selber bei uns raus finden. While said bunny whispers into his ear and coaxes him into committing a series of crimes\, Donnie tries to uncover not only the truth behind his visions\, but also the secrets of time\, space\, love and fate. \nTo say that “Donnie Darko” is a strange or difficult to understand movie would be the understatement of the century. The film is overflowing with complex themes that exit science-fiction straight into the realm of conspiracy theories\, and only few of these are explained properly. And yet\, this film has managed to gain a loyal fan base over the years\, and rightly so. Rarely have I seen a movie that manages to create such a unique atmosphere as this one does. It´s equal parts dark and melancholic as it is funny\, overly complicated and surprisingly profound. The star-studded cast with its consistently strong performances does the rest. “Donnie Darko” is a film that you continue to reflect on long after it ends\, and in which life and\, above all\, destiny play a much stronger role than it initially appears. Tim Burtons preisgekrönte Adaption des 1865 erschienenen Kinderbuchs von Lewis Caroll entführt euch in eine magische Welt voller verrückter Figuren wie dem Hutmacher\, der Grinsekatze und der Roten Königin. Gefangen in den Zwängen des viktorianischen Englands begleiten wir Alice auf ihrer Reise der Emanzipation und Erwachsenwerdung. Der Disney-Klassiker aus dem Jahre 2010 sollte bei einigen für Nostalgie sorgen und falls ihr damals den Film verpasst habt\, ist dies eine exzellente Gelegenheit diese Lücke auf der großen Leinwand zu schließen. \nNeben dem Film wird es dank dem Bergfest-Team Popcorn und Slush-Eis sowie einen kleinen Cocktailstand geben. They’ve finally been accepted into the Water clan\, but aside from the looming threat of the human RDA forces\, another stressor is preventing them from finally settling down. Their adopted son\, Spider\, still needs a rebreather to survive in Pandora’s atmosphere\, and they only have one backup battery. On the way to fix this problem\, an attack by a new\, aggressive Na’vi tribe splits the family up and drags the Sully kids into a life-threatening situation… \nThis third entry in the Avatar series leaves me with divided feelings. Not in the art department though: the CGI is marvelous\, the world design still great and the action sequences breathtaking. No\, my main problem is that you can clearly tell that Fire and Ash and Way of Water were conceived as a single work and later split into two movies. Aside from introducing a new MacGuffin\, this movie feels like Way of Water all over again. It sticks to the same setting\, does similar things with its characters and introduces too little new things to keep you amazed by the world of Pandora. Especially the last part hurts\, as the Ash People\, the new Na´vi faction\, are quite interesting\, but ultimately underdeveloped. You can still have a good time with this movie for the spectacle alone\, but don´t expect the same magic its predecessors managed to elicit. Over time\, he grows to enjoy his new and unusual work. \n“Rental Family” uses little dialogue to convey the experience of loneliness and companionship in a big city. The film aims to portray those feelings through emotional scenes and explores how things unfold when the boundary between professionalism and attachment is crossed. DESCRIPTION:Audio German\, No Subtitles \nÜber das deutsche Kino wird heute zu Recht viel geklagt. Doch es gibt positive Ausnahmen: Mascha Schilinski hat mit „In die Sonne schauen“ einen bemerkenswerten Film geschaffen. Über einen Zeitraum von ca. 100 Jahren hinweg (1910er bis in die Gegenwart) erzählt die Regisseurin die Geschichte von vier Frauen auf einem altmärkischen Bauernhof. Das klingt erst einmal banal\, doch hier steckt thematisch einiges drin: Feminismus\, Depression\, transgenerationale Traumata\, Tod und die Frage nach historischer Authentizität im Kino. \nBesonders beeindruckend ist\, wie Schilinski hierfür eine Bildsprache findet. Visuelle Motive und eine nicht-chronologische Erzählweise setzen Szenen erst später in Kontext oder lassen sie bewusst offen. Geschichte erscheint hier nicht als linear erzählbar\, sondern fragmentarisch – geprägt von fehlenden Quellen und unserer begrenzten Perspektive auf die Vergangenheit. Zusätzlich schafft Schilinski eine eindringliche Atmosphäre\, durch die der Film stellenweise wie ein Spukfilm wirkt. \n„In die Sonne schauen“ ist sicherlich kein leicht verdaulicher\, sondern ein anspruchsvoller Film. Doch wer sich für einen authentischen Blick auf die Vergangenheit interessiert und glaubt\, dass das deutsche Kino mehr zu bieten hat als Klamaukkomödien\, sollte sich diesen Film nicht entgehen lassen. In “Sorry\, Baby”\, we follow Agnes (Eva Victor)\, a literature student\, after a “bad thing” happened to her a few years ago. While the people around her seem to get ahead in life\, like her best friend Lydie who’s pregnant and about to get married\, Agnes lives in rural Maine and struggles to move on. Told in non-linear chapters that jump back and forth in time\, the film slowly pieces together for us who Agnes is and what happened to her. \nThe rest of the film is better kept as a surprise to hit you at your most emotionally open. Come prepared for deep feelings\, but also for genuine entertainment. In their directorial debut\, Eva Victor manages to combine powerful emotion with hilarious\, relatable humor. Only few films (Eight Grade\, Jojo Rabbit\, The Perks of Being a Wallflower\, …) manage this balance so successfully. “Sorry\, Baby” has been nominated for its direction and writing at numerous festivals and awards\, including Sundance and Cannes\, and Eva Victor’s performance earned a Golden Globe nomination. In den bisherigen Trailern konnte man bereits Fanlieblinge wie  Yoshi oder Rosalina und ihre Lumas in Aktion sehen. Als neuer Antagonist tritt Bowser Junior auf\, natürlich ausgestattet mit seinem ikonischen magischen Pinsel mit welchem er sich verwandeln kann. Auch andere bekanntere Gegnertypen aus dem Franchise sind wieder mit dabei. \nAlles in Allem kann man sich mit dem Super Mario Galaxy Film vermutlich wieder auf einen Fanservice-Fest freuen\, wobei die Story eher zweitrangig sein wird. Der Hochschulfilmclub möchte mit der Kurzfilmnacht Euch und das vergangene Semester gebührend verabschieden und vor den anstehenden Prüfungen noch ein wenig Ablenkung bieten. \nEuch erwarten originelle internationale Kurzfilme\, die in zwei Abschnitten á 60 Minuten präsentiert werden. Das Programm unterscheidet sich natürlich von den Kurzfilmnächten im letzten Winter- und Sommersemester. \nOb Romantik\, Drama\, Horror\, flacher oder schwarzer Humor – jeder kommt auf seine Kosten und niemand zu kurz. \nAlle Kurzfilme werden in ihrem Originalton gezeigt\, in der Regel mit Untertiteln. So sind auch alle nicht-deutschsprachigen Filmliebhaber willkommen. \nAll short films will be screened in their original version\, usually with subtitles.
