SUMMARY:Dungeons and Dragons
DESCRIPTION:Eigentlich sollte es nur ein einfacher Diebstahl sein\, den Barde Edgin\, Barbaren-Kriegerin Holga\, Zauberer Simon und Fälscher Forge für ihre zwielichtige Auftraggeberin durchführen. Doch Edgin und Holga werden gefangengenommen und landen für zwei Jahre im Gefängnis im frostigen Eiswindtal.\n\nNach ihrer Flucht müssen sie feststellen\, dass sich Forge zum Herrscher über die Stadt Niewinter aufgeschwungen und Edgins Tochter Kira Lügen über ihren Vater eingeflößt hat. Gemeinsam schmieden sie einen Plan\, um Kira zu befreien und den Fängen des schmierigen Bösewichts ein mächtiges Artefakt zu entreißen. Dafür holen sie neben Simon\, auch die gestaltwandelnde Druidin Doric und den furchtlosen Paladin Xenk an Bord. Schon bald stellen sie jedoch fest\, dass hier mehr auf dem Spiel steht\, als das Schicksal von Edgins Familie.\n\nNach einer gefühlten Ewigkeit bietet D&D endlich wieder einen Fantasy-Abenteuer-Film wie er sein sollte. Im Vordergrund steht nicht die CGI-Präsentation\, sondern die packende Quest\, die faszinierende Welt\, die vielseitigen Charaktere und der lockere Humor — eben genau wie in einer richtigen D&D Runde am Tisch. SUMMARY:Die Feuerzangenbowle
DESCRIPTION:Auch dieses Jahr zeigt der Hochschulfilmclub zusammen mit dem Fachgebiet Kunststofftechnik\, dem Fachschaftsrat Maschinenbau\, dem FKTI und dem StuRa den Kultstreifen „Die Feuerzangenbowle“ in der schönen Vorweihnachtszeit. \nJeder Student kennt die Geschichte des legendären Dr. Johannes Pfeiffer (nur echt mit drei f)\, der noch einmal die Schulbank drückt. In angeheiterter Herrenrunde bei Feuerzangenbowle erzählen sich die Honoratioren von ihren Schulstreichen. Der junge Schriftsteller Pfeiffer wurde als Kind „nur“ von einem Privatlehrer unterrichtet und kann demnach bei diesen Geschichten nicht mithalten. So beschließt er eine Rückkehr an die Schule – und zwar als Schüler. Als Primaner getarnt erlebt er alles\, was zu einer richtigen Schülerkarriere gehört. Angefangen bei unzähligen Klassenbucheinträgen\, über eine schwatzhafte Zimmerwirtin\, gnadenlos bimmelnde Wecker zu unmöglichen Uhrzeiten und einsame Zeiten im Karzer bis hin zur Schülerliebe mit dem Namen Eva. \nDamit ihr dabei nicht verdursten müsst\, gibt es natürlich wieder passend zum Film echte Feuerzangenbowle. Konfrontiert mit einem mysteriösen\, allmächtigen Feind muss Ethan erkennen\, dass nichts wichtiger sein kann als seine Mission – nicht einmal das Leben derer\, die ihm am meisten am Herzen liegen.\nErste Kritiken fielen nach der Premiere fast ausschließlich positiv aus.\nTrotz der zweieinhalbstündigen Laufzeit könne „Mission: Impossible 7“ aufgrund eines hohen Erzähltempos und einer dichten Handlung durchgängig unterhalten.\nDie neu eingeführten Charaktere überzeugen allesamt\, wobei insbesondere Hayley Atwell mit ihrer Rolle als Grace besonders hervorsticht. That’s why we proudly present the film „Barbie“ on the occasion of the action week „Equality“ together with the Equality Council of the TU Ilmenau. \nLife in plastic\, it’s fantastic; at least until you develop a conscience and start thinking about death. In her Barbie Land\, guided and ruled by all the other plastic dolls with their extraordinary abilities\, the stereotypical Barbie begins to think about her destiny. She gets flat feet\, falls off the roof of her dream house instead of floating down\, and the showers are cold! So she takes a trip to the real world to find out the reason for all the changes. Being a chamber drama\, it is quite astonishing to see what can be achieved within the confines of a single room.\nFor me personally\, Brendan Fraser’s truly fantastic (and Oscar-winning) performance is the highlight of the movie. DESCRIPTION:Nach der enuesten Dacla-Verfilmung\, gibt es im zweiten Teil unserer Vampir-woche die älteste Verfilmung von Bram Stokers Horror-Klassiker als ganz besonderes Event auf unserer Leinwand zu sehen. \nLetztes Jahr wurde dieser Meilenstein der Filmgeschichte 100 Jahre alt und wir zeigen ihn genau wie damals analog mit zwei 16mm-Filmprojektoren. Mit dem Außergewöhnlichen noch nicht genug\, wird die Live-Begleitung von Stummfilmpianist Richard Siedhoff für eine unvergessliche Atmosphäre sorgen. \nDie Geschichte ist altbekannt: Der Makler Hutter reist nach Transsylvanien\, um Graf Orlok Verträge für einen Hauskauf in der norddeutschen Stadt Wisborg zu überbringen. Auf der Reise und im Schloss häufen sich düstere Vorahnungen\, bis sich der Graf schließlich als Nosferatu\, als untoter Blutsauger\, entpuppt. Als Orlok auf dem Weg nach Wisborg die Pest in die Welt trägt\, beginnt ein Wettlauf mit der Zeit um Orlok aufzuhalten und Hutters Geliebte zu retten. \nAufgrund fehlender Rechte wurden einige Details und sämtliche Namen geändert\, dennoch ist der Film so nah an der Vorlage\, dass nach richterlichem Urteil alle Kopien vernichtet werden mussten. Wir zeigen eine restaurierte und viragierte Fassung der einzig überlebenden Kopie. Eines Abends sollen Cissy und Whitney im Nachtclub Sweetwaters auftreten. Nachdem Cissy den Produzenten Clive Davis entdeckt\, ermutigt sie Whitney dazu die Show zu eröffnen. Beeindruckt von Whitneys Auftritt\, nimmt Davis sie bei Arista Records unter Vertrag. Bereits mit ihrem Debütalbum avanciert sie zu einem Idol von Millionen und wird zu einer der berühmtesten Sängerinnen ihrer Generation. Houston lernt bei einer Preisverleihung den Sänger Bobby Brown kennen und die beiden verlieben sich. DESCRIPTION:“Babylon” tells a story set in and revolving around Hollywood starting in the late 1920s\, in the midst of the transition from silent to sound film. Plans for a movie adaptation are already underway but come to an abrupt halt after the director (Adrien Brody) is murdered backstage. World-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) gets teamed up with eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) to take on the case. Soon the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit (from “who done it?” – genre word for murder mysteries) within the glamorously sordid theater underground\, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril. \nRockwell and Ronan give a well-timed comedic duo we didn’t know we needed. The production and image design and the fun the entire cast and crew had while filming make for an easy\, charming\, and fun watch. The screenplay provides puns on every occasion possible\, along with a sheer endless amount of references to the entire whodunit genre but still avoids that you grow weary of them. Doch mit den überraschenden und zunehmend bedrohlichen Zügen\, die dieses Menü annimmt\, hat wohl keiner der Gäste vorher gerechnet. \nMit seiner gekonnten Mischung aus spannendem Thriller und bitterböser Satire nimmt Regisseur Mark Mylod das Publikum mit in den Abgrund der gehobenen Sternegastronomie. In zunehmend beklemmender Atmosphäre tischt „Chef“ Slowik Gang um Gang auf und enthüllt dabei immer weiter das eigentliche Thema des Abends\, welches\, gewürzt mit einer ordentlichen Portion Wut\, einen erschreckend menschlichen (und nachvollziehbaren) Kern hat. DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of this year’s ISWI movie night we present the 7 times Oscar winning masterpiece “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. \nEvelyn Wang is a Chinese immigrant living in America. There she runs a small laundromat with her husband Waymond. In addition to her business struggeling at the moment\, Evelyn has to face a  multitude of other worries and problems: the salon is being investigated by the IRS\, her husband wants a divorce\, her father\, who has recently arrived from Hong Kong\, has problems with American culture\, the Chinese New Year celebration has to be planned and prepared\, and her daughter wants to introduce her girlfriend Becky to the family. During the visit to the IRS\, Alpha Waymond\, an alternate version of Waymond from another universe\, suddenly takes over the body of Evelyn’s husband. The latter explains to her that she must use the „verse-jumping“ technology developed in the so-called Alphaverse to save the multiverse from the evil Jobu Tupaki by harnessing the abilities of all her versions from other universes. \nEEAAO tells a story of the problems of everyday life and how people face them. DESCRIPTION:Rabiye Kurnaz (Meltem Kaptan) führt Anfang der 2000er ein vollkommen normales Leben in Bremen\, das bald aus den Fugen geworfen werden sollte.\nAls ihr Sohn Murat kurz nach den Anschlägen vom 11. September 2001 auf einer Reise in Pakistan verhaftet und nach Guantánamo\, einem US-amerikanischen Gefangenenlager\, verfrachtet wird\, beginnt eine Reise\, wie sie nur das Leben selbst schreiben kann. \nBasierend auf wahren Begebenheiten erzählt „Rabiye Kurnaz gegen George W. Bush“ von der mitreißenden Geschichte einer Mutter\, die alles in Bewegung setzt\, um ihren Sohn zu befreien. Mit der Unterstützung des engagierten Menschenrechtsanwalts Bernhard Docke (Alexander Scheer) zieht sie so bis vor den US Supreme Court. \nEine Geschichte\, die in vielen Momentaufnahmen einen langjährigen Prozess ausführt\, die hochpolitische Themen mit alltäglichen Leben verflicht\, die Recht und Willkür behandelt und in ihrer Ernsthaftigkeit zeigt und dabei dennoch optimistisch und mitunter lustig bleibt. So gelingt es Regisseur Andreas Dresen\, dem Cast ergreifende Darbietungen hervorzulocken\, wobei besonders Meltem Kaptan‘s Rabiye als emotionaler Kern des Films überzeugt. Auch wenn er erst recht spät über ein bloßes Nacherzählen der tatsächlichen Ereignisse hinauskommt\, lohnt es sich diese Geschichte auf der Leinwand mitzuerleben. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTitel:\nRabiye Kurnaz vs. George W.
