SUMMARY:Wall-E (OmU)
DESCRIPTION:Audio English\, Subtitles German \nWho’s that driving around in  the distance? Its none other than our favourite Sci-Fi roomba WALL-E (voice by Ben Burtt)! The last one of his kind who is roaming around and cleaning up the planet after humanity has long left the uninhabitable earth to continue our journey as a species through space. \nThis delightful classic does not just teach us to be aware of the enviroment and heed the consequences\,  no it also does so by showing us a (litteral) seed of hope to never give up even when things already seem dire. \nNow let us follow our endearing protagonist and their more futuristic companion EVE (voiced by Elissa Knight) on their way to the spaceship AXIOM as they they try to bring the hope for sustainible life on earth back to humanity. This easier said than done\, noumerous challenges await them\, not the least of them beeing that lets just say humans have… changed a bit since they took of. \nIts should also come as no surprise that WALL-E won many reputable awards most notable the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year 2009! A wish that will come true\, no matter the cost. \n  \nHorrors from the World Wide Web\, Part 1: \nIf you search for either of the two directors who brought you 2026´s most notorious horror movies\, you´re in for a surprise. Because both Curry Barker as well as “Backrooms’ Kane Parson are more known for their short films on YouTube than for illustrious Hollywood careers. In the case of Barker\, this means a year-long track record of comedy and horror flicks.  It is precisely this combination of genres that is one of the strengths behind “Obsession’s surprise success: a remarkable sense of timing and atmosphere. Combined with lead actress Inde Navarrette’s brilliantly unhinged performance\, this creates a lingering dread that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats without resorting to cheap scares. If that isn´t enough\, the well-thought-out script about the horrifying implications of a monkey-paw wish centered around one-sided love will stay in your brain longer than any jump scare ever could. Behind it awaits the stink of old moist carpet\, the madness of mono-yellow\, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buss and approximately six hundred million square miles of empty rooms… \n  \nHorrors from the World Wide Web\, Part 2: \nIf you´ve spent any time during the last years around the spookier corners of the internet\, you know the words above and the image associated with them. The Backrooms are not just an urban legend\, they´ve grown into an online phenomenon comparable to Slender Man or the SCP Foundation during their prime. Kane Parson\, only 21 years old\, has played a vital role in exposing an audience of millions to these liminal horrors\, but also in shaping an integral part of their lore with his YouTube short films. Still\, it´s a surprise that a Hollywood studio – even one as experimental as A24 – just decided to put their trust into this kid and let him direct an actual movie. I am glad to report that this wager paid out. With the help of an extensive set build and a lot of practical effects\, Parson used his budget of under 10 million Dollars to turn the infamous yellow maze into a haunting reality.
