DESCRIPTION:Auch dieses Jahr zeigt der Hochschulfilmclub zusammen mit dem Fachgebiet Kunststofftechnik\, dem Fachschaftsrat Maschinenbau\, dem Studierendenrat und dem FKTI den Kultstreifen „Die Feuerzangenbowle“ in der schönen Vorweihnachtszeit.\nJeder Student kennt die Geschichte des legendären Dr. Johannes Pfeiffer (nur echt mit drei f)\, der noch einmal die Schulbank drückt. In angeheiterter Herrenrunde bei Feuerzangenbowle erzählen sich die Honoratioren von ihren Schulstreichen. Der junge Schriftsteller Pfeiffer wurde als Kind „nur“ von einem Privatlehrer unterrichtet und kann demnach bei diesen Geschichten nicht mithalten. So beschließt er eine Rückkehr an die Schule – und zwar als Schüler. Als Primaner getarnt erlebt er alles\, was zu einer richtigen Schülerkarriere gehört. Angefangen bei unzähligen Klassenbucheinträgen\, über eine schwatzhafte Zimmerwirtin\, gnadenlos bimmelnde Wecker zu unmöglichen Uhrzeiten und einsame Zeiten im Karzer bis hin zur Schülerliebe mit dem Namen Eva.\nDamit ihr dabei nicht verdursten müsst\, gibt es natürlich wieder passend zum Film echte Feuerzangenbowle.\nAber: „Jeder nor einen wönzigen Schlock“! DESCRIPTION:Visit us on the sad 5-year anniversary of January 6 when we delve into the early story of the central figure behind it all: Donald Trump.\n“The Apprentice” is a biographical drama directed by Ali Abbasi that shows Trump’s (Sebastian Stan) rise to power as a real-estate prodigy and media figure\, complete with all the insane schemes and blackmail going on behind it all\, mainly from the early seventies to the late eighties. An especially important focus for the movie therein lies in the relationship between Trump and his mentor Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong)\, a scrupulous lawyer and prosecutor first gaining infamy by being closely associated with Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. It is shown how Cohn decisively influenced Trumps mannerisms and public appearance\, teaching him his “three rules” one can still observe to this day: 1. Always attack\, 2. Never admit wrongdoing\, and 3. DESCRIPTION:Anatole „Zsa-Zsa“ Korda\, a businessman of enormous riches and questionable morals\, has just survived his umpteenth assassination attempt. Inspired by this near-death experience\, he decides to put his affairs in order and bequeaths his empire to his estranged daughter Liesl\, a nun in training. Liesl is not particularly taken with this new turn in her life but nevertheless accompanies her father on a mission to Phoenicia\, where they promptly become the target of scheming tycoons\, foreign terrorists and determined assassins.\n“The Phoenician Scheme” could be described as Wes Anderson’s attempt at a spy movie\, delivered in his usual signature style of symmetrical compositions\, vibrant colors\, and dead-pan delivery of verbal delicacies. But a core difference separates this movie from his recent works: “The Phoenician Scheme” isn’t an ensemble piece. Instead\, Anderson presents the viewer with a character-driven drama that is particularly focused on the delicate relationship between the gruff Zsa-Zsa and his daughter. Seeing the bond between them evolve alongside Zsa-Zsa’s own personality and moral compass gives the movie a distinct purpose and direction that I haven’t witnessed in Anderson’s work since “Isle of Dogs.” A delightful experience for fans of this director and lovers of absurd storytelling alike. DESCRIPTION:Das Wikingerdorf Berk wird seit 300 Jahren von Drachen angegriffen\, die das Dorf verwüsten und Nahrung stehlen. Um in Berk respektiert zu werden\, ist es deshalb wichtig ein guter Drachentöter zu sein. Hicks\, der Sohn des Stammesoberhaupts\, ist jedoch nicht fürs Kämpfen gemacht und versucht vergeblich sich zu beweisen. Selbst als es ihm gelingt einen der gefürchteten Nachtschatten vom Himmel zu schießen\, glaubt ihm niemand. So sucht er den Drachen\, um ihn zu töten und den Beweis für seinen Erfolg zu erbringen. Doch als er den Drachen findet\, kommt alles anders als ursprünglich geplant. \n„Drachenzähmen leicht gemacht“ erzählt einfach nochmal dieselbe Geschichte\, steht dem Animationsfilm aus dem Jahr 2010 aber in nichts nach. Regisseur Dean DeBlois liefert nicht nur ein visuelles Upgrade für den mittlerweile etwas angestaubten Film von 2010\, sondern zaubert seinem Publikum ein konstantes Lächeln ins Gesicht\, während die erneut herausragende Action-Choreografie immer wieder für Gänsehaut sorgt. DESCRIPTION:Floria Lind (Leonie Benesch) arbeitet als Pflegefachfrau in einem Schweizer Krankenhaus. In diesem 91-minütigen Drama erleben wir den fiktionalen Alltag einer Spätschicht\, welcher vermutlich doch sehr repräsentativ für die Arbeit im Pflegesektor ist. Floria muss auf der überbelegten\, unterbesetzten Station mit Allerlei Herausforderungen kämpfen – schwer kranke Patienten\, alte Menschen\, Privatpatienten mit Extrawünschen. Floria ist in ihrer Arbeit außerordentlich kompetent\, doch die Belastung bringt sie regelmäßig an ihre Grenzen. Als ihr jedoch im Stress ein potenziell tödlicher Fehler unterläuft\, droht alles über ihr zusammenzubrechen.\nPetra Volpes Drama über den Pflegealltag wurde als Schweizer Beitrag für die Oscars 2026 in der Kategorie Bester Internationaler Film eingereicht. Leonie Benesch sorgt durch ihre authentische\, nuancierte Darstellung dafür\, dass sich die Zuschauer vollständig in die Situation hineinversetzen können. Wie schon in „Das Lehrerzimmer“ wird dieser Film maßgeblich von ihrer schauspielerischen Leistung getragen. „Heldin“ ist ein notwendiger und eindringlicher Blick auf die Realität des Gesundheitssystems. DESCRIPTION:Die traditionelle Kurzfilmnacht geht in die nächste Runde! Der Hochschulfilmclub möchte mit der Kurzfilmnacht Euch und das vergangene Semester gebührend verabschieden und vor den anstehenden Prüfungen noch ein wenig Ablenkung bieten. \nEuch erwarten originelle internationale Kurzfilme\, die in drei Abschnitten á 45 Minuten präsentiert werden. Das Programm unterscheidet sich natürlich von den Kurzfilmnächten im letzten Winter- und Sommersemester. \nOb Romantik\, Drama\, Horror\, flacher oder schwarzer Humor – jeder kommt auf seine Kosten und niemand zu kurz. \nAlle Kurzfilme werden in ihrem Originalton gezeigt\, in der Regel mit Untertiteln. So sind auch alle nicht-deutschsprachigen Filmliebhaber willkommen. \nAll short films will be screened in their original version\, usually with subtitles. So all non-German-speaking film lovers are welcome as well. \nWir freuen uns darauf\, mit Euch das Semester mit der traditionellen Kurzfilmnacht ausklingen zu lassen. \nIhr habt einen tollen Kurzfilm gefunden oder sogar selbst gedreht und möchtet ihn mit der Welt teilen? DESCRIPTION:Abschließen wird das Semester am Samstag ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Mit 16mm-Analog-Projektoren werden wir Euch\, ermöglicht durch Richard Siedhoff\, Filme des legendären Charlie Chaplin präsentieren. Mal kürzer\, mal länger wird Euch die Figur des Tramp mitnehmen in eine Zeit\, welche zwar schon über 100 Jahre zurückliegt\, aber deren Slapstick-Comedy noch heute Euch einige Lacher herbeizaubern wird. \nUm passende Klassiker für unser Winterkino zu finden\, haben wir tief in der Filmgeschichte gesucht und sind fündig geworden bei Werken\, die bereits 100-jährige Jubiläen feierten\, doch bis heute nichts von ihrer Magie verloren haben. Chaplin zeigt hier sein feines Gespür für Humor\, Emotion und Sozialkritik\, welches seine Filme so zeitlos macht und damit noch immer Zuschauer*innen auf der ganzen Welt begeistert. DESCRIPTION:Audio Japanese\, Subtitles English \nDenji\, devil hunter and half-chainsaw devil\, knows two things for sure: his job is to kill devils so he can continue to enjoy luxurious privileges like a bed and three meals a day\, and his heart belongs to Makima\, the woman who made that possible for him. But now he´s met a cute girl named Reze and suddenly that second part seems not so certain anymore… \nAs the title suggests\, “Reze-Arc” is a story arc in Chainsaw Man’s larger main plot and serves as the second season of the successful anime. Is it a good idea to watch this film if you haven’t seen the first season? Yes and no. Inexperienced viewers will be thrown into the middle of a supernatural world full of established characters\, so it helps to know their backstory if you want to understand their motivations (especially in the case of main character Denji). On the other hand\, CSM has always been a story that relies more on emotion than logic\, and Studio MAPPA conveys the tender romance at the film´s core with ease. It´s also the ideal movie if you want to burn the hardest action this side of Kimetsu no Yaiba into your retina\, because bombastic set pieces that set the screen ablaze are MAPPA’s second strength. “Reze-Arc” offers a semi-ideal\, but highly entertaining introduction to CSM´s very own brand of violent madness with touching emotional depth. Vor vielen Jahren erschufen ihre Eltern mit „Familie Sommer“ einen der erfolgreichsten Influencer-Accounts Deutschlands. Über Jahre hinweg wurde jeder Aspekt von Lucas Leben\, von ihrer Geburt bis hin zur Pubertät\, in der Öffentlichkeit mitverfolgt und diskutiert. Luca weiß\, dass das Einkommen der Familie von dieser Selbstdarstellung abhängt und ist bereit sich in den Dienst dieser Sache zu stellen. Nein? Egal! Denn in Pixars neustem Animationsfilm „Hoppers“ haben Wissenschaftler lebensechte Tierroboter erschaffen\, in die man das menschliche Bewusstsein übertragen kann. \nDie sehr naturnahe Mabel Tanaka (gesprochen von Magdalena Montasser) entdeckt diese eigentlich geheime Technologie im Forschungszentrum ihrer Universität und nutzt sie auch sogleich um in Form eines Bibers ihre geliebten Tiere in freier Wildbahn besser kennenzulernen. Zugleich will sie die lokale Fauna von den Plänen der Stadt Beaverton warnen. Diese will nämlich den natürlichen Lebensraum der verschiedenen Spezies zerstören und stattdessen eine Autobahn dort errichten. \nInwiefern das jedoch gelingt\, welche Eigenheiten Mabel über die Kultur der Biber kennenlernt und welche deutschen Promis ihr als entzückende Tiere hört müsst ihr schon selber bei uns raus finden. While said bunny whispers into his ear and coaxes him into committing a series of crimes\, Donnie tries to uncover not only the truth behind his visions\, but also the secrets of time\, space\, love and fate. \nTo say that “Donnie Darko” is a strange or difficult to understand movie would be the understatement of the century. The film is overflowing with complex themes that exit science-fiction straight into the realm of conspiracy theories\, and only few of these are explained properly. And yet\, this film has managed to gain a loyal fan base over the years\, and rightly so. Rarely have I seen a movie that manages to create such a unique atmosphere as this one does. It´s equal parts dark and melancholic as it is funny\, overly complicated and surprisingly profound. The star-studded cast with its consistently strong performances does the rest. “Donnie Darko” is a film that you continue to reflect on long after it ends\, and in which life and\, above all\, destiny play a much stronger role than it initially appears. DESCRIPTION:Audio English\, Subtitles German \nJake\, Neytiri\, and the rest of the Sully family are mourning the loss of their eldest son. They’ve finally been accepted into the Water clan\, but aside from the looming threat of the human RDA forces\, another stressor is preventing them from finally settling down. Their adopted son\, Spider\, still needs a rebreather to survive in Pandora’s atmosphere\, and they only have one backup battery. On the way to fix this problem\, an attack by a new\, aggressive Na’vi tribe splits the family up and drags the Sully kids into a life-threatening situation… \nThis third entry in the Avatar series leaves me with divided feelings. Not in the art department though: the CGI is marvelous\, the world design still great and the action sequences breathtaking. No\, my main problem is that you can clearly tell that Fire and Ash and Way of Water were conceived as a single work and later split into two movies. Aside from introducing a new MacGuffin\, this movie feels like Way of Water all over again. It sticks to the same setting\, does similar things with its characters and introduces too little new things to keep you amazed by the world of Pandora. Especially the last part hurts\, as the Ash People\, the new Na´vi faction\, are quite interesting\, but ultimately underdeveloped. You can still have a good time with this movie for the spectacle alone\, but don´t expect the same magic its predecessors managed to elicit. DESCRIPTION:Audio German\, No Subtitles \nÜber das deutsche Kino wird heute zu Recht viel geklagt. Doch es gibt positive Ausnahmen: Mascha Schilinski hat mit „In die Sonne schauen“ einen bemerkenswerten Film geschaffen. Über einen Zeitraum von ca. 100 Jahren hinweg (1910er bis in die Gegenwart) erzählt die Regisseurin die Geschichte von vier Frauen auf einem altmärkischen Bauernhof. Das klingt erst einmal banal\, doch hier steckt thematisch einiges drin: Feminismus\, Depression\, transgenerationale Traumata\, Tod und die Frage nach historischer Authentizität im Kino. \nBesonders beeindruckend ist\, wie Schilinski hierfür eine Bildsprache findet. Visuelle Motive und eine nicht-chronologische Erzählweise setzen Szenen erst später in Kontext oder lassen sie bewusst offen. Geschichte erscheint hier nicht als linear erzählbar\, sondern fragmentarisch – geprägt von fehlenden Quellen und unserer begrenzten Perspektive auf die Vergangenheit. Zusätzlich schafft Schilinski eine eindringliche Atmosphäre\, durch die der Film stellenweise wie ein Spukfilm wirkt. \n„In die Sonne schauen“ ist sicherlich kein leicht verdaulicher\, sondern ein anspruchsvoller Film. Doch wer sich für einen authentischen Blick auf die Vergangenheit interessiert und glaubt\, dass das deutsche Kino mehr zu bieten hat als Klamaukkomödien\, sollte sich diesen Film nicht entgehen lassen. DESCRIPTION:Audio English\, Subtitles German \nFeeling stuck\, left alone and forgotten. Those emotions can be quite relatable for students everywhere. In “Sorry\, Baby”\, we follow Agnes (Eva Victor)\, a literature student\, after a “bad thing” happened to her a few years ago. While the people around her seem to get ahead in life\, like her best friend Lydie who’s pregnant and about to get married\, Agnes lives in rural Maine and struggles to move on. Told in non-linear chapters that jump back and forth in time\, the film slowly pieces together for us who Agnes is and what happened to her. \nThe rest of the film is better kept as a surprise to hit you at your most emotionally open. Come prepared for deep feelings\, but also for genuine entertainment. In their directorial debut\, Eva Victor manages to combine powerful emotion with hilarious\, relatable humor. Only few films (Eight Grade\, Jojo Rabbit\, The Perks of Being a Wallflower\, …) manage this balance so successfully. “Sorry\, Baby” has been nominated for its direction and writing at numerous festivals and awards\, including Sundance and Cannes\, and Eva Victor’s performance earned a Golden Globe nomination. Von seltsamen Sternkatapulten geleitet\, reisen sie durch die Galaxie\, landen auf verschiedenen Planeten und treffen auf einen neuen Gegner\, aber auch auf neue Freunde. \nWie auch der direkte Vorgänger wird sich der Super Mario Galaxy Film vermutlich nur lose an die Videospielvorlage halten. In den bisherigen Trailern konnte man bereits Fanlieblinge wie  Yoshi oder Rosalina und ihre Lumas in Aktion sehen. Als neuer Antagonist tritt Bowser Junior auf\, natürlich ausgestattet mit seinem ikonischen magischen Pinsel mit welchem er sich verwandeln kann. Auch andere bekanntere Gegnertypen aus dem Franchise sind wieder mit dabei. \nAlles in Allem kann man sich mit dem Super Mario Galaxy Film vermutlich wieder auf einen Fanservice-Fest freuen\, wobei die Story eher zweitrangig sein wird. After the death of their mother\, sisters Nora and Agnes have to reconcile with their estranged father Gustav\, a celebrated film director in the final years of his career. Having been separated from the family for many years\, Gustav still owns the family home and now the three must discuss its future together. However\, Gustav’s focus isn’t on the house but instead of his newest film project\, a drama based on his own mother’s life for which he wants his daughter to star in. Nora refuses. Working with her father is emotionally not possible for her. The project eventually moves forward when famous Hollywood actress Rachel Kemp discovers Gustav’s work at a festival retrospective and agrees to take on the role. \nSentimental Value marks the third collaboration between director Joachim Trier and actress Renate Reinsve. Adding a sense of wholesomeness and optimism compared to their previous work “The Worst Person in the World”\, Joachim Triers film managed to get 9 nominations at this years Academy Awards\, including nominations for all 4 leading actors. Sentimental Value is one of the most acclaimed European films in recent history.
