SUMMARY:Screening of ‘Reunion’ and Discussion with Steinar Bryn (OV)
DESCRIPTION:Together with ISWI e.V. (Initiative Solidarische Welt Ilmenau e.V.) we present the documentary\n"Reunion".\nThe event would begin by screening of the documentary based on the\nstory of old friends from both sides of the conflict over Kosovo meeting again after\nbeing separated by war. The meeting is conducted in the form of a dialogue\nsession (described below) and is co-moderated Dr. Steinar Bryn.\n\nAfter the screening\, the audience has a chance to interact with Dr. Bryn himself\nand discuss ideas about the dialogue methodology and its scope for society\nchange.\n\nDialogue Methodology and Steinar Bryn\nDialogue is a conversation based on humility\, respect and openness which allows\nus to learn about each other. By learning about each other\, unmanageable\nsituations can become manageable. Dialogue enhances relationships in a\ncommunity and strengthen the social fabric. Dialogue opens the door to peaceful\nco-existence.\nDr. Steinar Bryn has been a peace builder and dialogue worker since 1976\, working\nin various capacities over his long career. Dr. Bryn has extensive experience\nworking as a dialogue facilitator. He is highly recognized in communities like\nVukovar\, Prijedor\, Srebrenica\, Bratunac\, Stolac\, Kosovo Polje\, Obilic\, Mitrovica\,\nBujanovac and Jegunovce. He has also facilitated dialogue in the Middle East and\nbetween Somalian clans. After the merger of Nansen Dialogue and the Norwegian\nPeace Center in 2010 he is the senior adviser at the Nansen Center for Peace and\nDialogue. Dr. Steinar Bryn has\, together with the Nansen Dialog Network\, been\nnominated to the Nobel Peace Prize 2009-2014. He has been nominated by the\ndeputy president of the Norwegian parliament\, a member of the Bosnian\nparliament and a professor in mediation in Norway.\n\nThe movie and the discussion will be held in English.
