Together with the ISWI e.V. we celebrate the start of the international student week in Ilmenau with a special movie event – ISWI edition.
It’s a surprise. But prepare yourself for an impassioned plea for sexual liberation and autonomy, portrayed by five courageous, smart and self-determined women. Despite the different backgrounds, cultural barriers and religious beliefs – ranging from Japan and India to the Somali muslim diaspora, the Catholic clergy in Europe and the Hasidic community in the US – all five challenge past norms and traditions and rebel against archaic-patriarch societies in the hope of creating a better future for all. With courage and strength, raising their voice against gender injustice, they are examples of utmost interest who did not only assert their right to self-determination but altered the perception of thousand viewers in 2018. With harrowing facts, touching stories and thrilling energy, the movie transforms the suffering of the five protagonists into a burning desire for change.
